Martínez, Arturo

(Arturo Martínez Chávez)
   one of the most popular villains of Mexican cinema from the late 1940s through the 1960s, the San Luis Potosi-native Martínez started directing films as well in 1959, and later formed his own production company. His sons Arturo Martínez hijo and Víctor Manuel Martínez also work in the film industry. Arturo Martínez was nominated for an Ariel (Best Male Co-Star) for his very first movie, Juan Charrasqueado (1947), and also for El Siete Leguas in 1955.
